Biden-Harris Administration Delivers $242 Million from President Biden’s Investing in America Agenda to Expand Western Water Storage and Conveyance and Ensure Clean, Reliable Drinking Water for Western Communities
May 30, 2024 – The Department of the Interior today announced a $242 million investment as part of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda that will bring clean, reliable drinking water to communities across the West through five water storage and conveyance projects. The projects in California, Colorado and Washington are expected to add at least 1.6 million acre-feet of additional water storage capacity, enough water to support 6.4 million people for a year. The funding will also invest in a feasibility study in Arizona that is designed to advance water storage capacity once completed. -

Reclamation releases environmental analysis on combating nonnative fish in Colorado River using flows from Glen Canyon Dam
May 30, 2024 – The Bureau of Reclamation today released the Glen Canyon Dam Long-Term Experimental and Management Plan Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement that analyzes various flow options from Glen Canyon Dam to prevent the expansion of nonnative fish, primarily smallmouth bass. Biden-Harris Administration Delivers $179 Million from Investing in America Agenda for Innovative Water Reuse and Drought Resilience Projects
May 28, 2024 – The Department of the Interior today announced a $179 million investment through President Biden’s Investing in America agenda for innovative water reuse projects that strengthen drought resilience across the West, increasing water security and resilience across western communities. Reclamation announces $3.7M in WaterSMART Small-Scale Water Efficiency grants for 41 projects
May 23, 2024 – The Bureau of Reclamation announced 41 projects selected to receive $3.7 million to improve water efficiency in the Western United States. Projects receiving funding through the Small-Scale Water Efficiency Projects include the installation of flow measurement or automation in a specific part of a water delivery system, lining of a section of a canal to address seepage, or other similar projects that are limited in scope. -

Biden-Harris Administration announces $11 million to bolster water supply in U.S. Territories as part of Investing in America agenda
May 23, 2024 – The Bureau of Reclamation today announced the availability of up to $11 million as part of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda for projects to provide domestic water supplies to U.S. territories. Reclamation plans to distribute the funding from the Inflation Reduction Act —the largest climate investment in history— to American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands for projects in disadvantaged communities or households that do not have reliable access to potable water. -

May 22, 2024 – Truckee Canal revitalization project, funded by President Biden's Investing in America agenda, reaches finish line. The project, funded by President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and implemented in collaboration with the Truckee-Carson Irrigation District, entailed lining around 3.3 miles of the earthen canal in the most vulnerable stretch in the City of Fernley. -
