Its been known for several months now multiple independent teams had discovered various unpatchable bootrom exploits in the Tegra X1 SoC (system on chip), which is used in the Nintendo switch and various other devices.

Essentially if you have an Nintendo Switch right now its hackable and Nintendo can't do anything to patch it, meaning every Switch out in the wild at present can be hacked regardless of the firmware version it's currently on.

The only way Nintendo can patch this exploit is with a newer hardware revision of the Switch. With that in mind if you want Nintendo Switch hacks in the future, now is the time to pickup a console before new unhackable Switches land in shops.

To get a bit more technical the a big exists in the RCM mode, a USB-based rescue mode intended for initial flashing of Tegra devices and recovery of bricked devices. Normally, RCM mode only allows signed images to be loaded, however thanks to the bug its possible to load your own code from here and have full control over the Nintendo Switch.

For now what has been released is a tethered vulnerability, meaning you need to enter RCM mode and load a USB-based exploit from a PC. However it's already been confirmed in the Fusee Gelee FAQ its perfectly possible to exploit the Switch without been tethered to a PC, this and a lot of other upcoming nice things haven't been release yet.

What is out there at the moment is mainly intended for developers and not the end user. A CFW (custom firmware) for the Nintendo Switch has been in development for several months. This is called Atmosphere and is scheduled to be released "early summer" with a current ETA around June 2018. Based on my understanding of the Fusee Gelee FAQ this is when things will be a lot more accessible for the average end user and we will very likely get an untethered way to launch CFW, Homebrew and Linux.

New Super Ultimate Injector 3DS is a very useful application that allows you to inject Nes, Snes, GameBoy, GameBoy Colour, GameBoy Advance, Mega Drive, Game Gear and TurbiGrafx 16 roms in to the 3DS, allowing roms of games from these popular classic consoles to be loaded from the 3DS home screen.

This is something which has been possible for a number of years now, however advancements have been made with GBA game injection. Its now possible to inject games which use 128k saves and the RTC (real time clock) such as Pokemon without having to patch the rom to get the game to save.

With that in mind we've published a couple of tutorials to show how easy it is to inject GBA games and games from other classic consoles on to the 3DS.

Nintendo 3DS GBA Game Injection How To - We're mainly looking at this from the prospective of playing your GBA games as the 3DS is capable of playing these natively, without emulation making it a nice modern way to play some old GBA games. However the same principle applies for other past consoles supported by New Super Ultimate Injector 3DS.

3DS GBA Save Backup and Restore - Once you have some GBA games on your 3DS then you might want to restore your save games from an emulator or even a real GBA game cartridge, this tutorial will teach you how to do just that.

So what we're some of your favourite GBA games? it goes without saying the Pokemon game were mine, however I also enjoyed Kuru Kuru Kururin, Jazz Jackrabbit Advance, Mario Kart Super Circuit, Sonic Advance, Mr Driller 2, The Lost Vikings, Tony Hawks 2 and Super Mario Advance 1 & 2.

A homebrew enabler has been released for PS4 consoles on Firmware 4.05 by VVildCard777. The PS4HEN homebrew enabler allows PS4 users on firmware 4.05 to not only launch homebrew applications, but also make use of custom themes and pkg's. As with firmware 1.76 booting a fully working Linux distribution with 3d acceleration is also possible, thanks to the previous work by fail0verflow.

PS4HEN is currently available on VV1LD's GitHub page, with instructions on how to make use of it. Users must first run the 4.05 kernel exploit and inject the payload that way, after that things are as simple as installing homebrew pkg's through Settings > Debug Settings > Game > Package Installer and running it the same as any other game installed on the PS4.

We will likely be updating the Digiex test PS4 from 1.76 to 4.05 to bring some new tutorials for 4.05 based firmware in the near future. Until then you would be wise reading up on how you can block PS4 System Updates and for the more adventurous, exploring VV1LD's GitHub page if you wish to get started right away.

18 years, 1 month, 1 week and 1 day ago today on the 8th of December 1999 the Pokemon YOSHIRA Mew distribution took place at Toys R Us stores in the United States. This was one of the first chances Pokemon collectors in the USA had to obtain their very own Mew, a Pokemon that otherwise was not obtainable though normal game play.

This distribution was a direct trade, meaning the Mews were loaded on to a normal Pokemon Red and Blue cartridge and traded to people who attended the event.

Fast forward from 1999 to 2018 we're pleased to announce we have been able to obtain the save game from a Pokemon Red cartridge used for this distribution. Needless to say to do this all these years later is quite an achievement, given that batteries in GameBoy cartridges don't last forever, erasing the savegame forever when they fail.

We would like to thank Jenn from Reddit for allowing the save to be backed up from her distribution cartridge and Digiex member @Deoxyz for assisting with this and making the save game available to all. Quite the treat given this comes lass then a month after the Pokemon Aura Mew GBA Distribution Cartridge was finally able to be released.

We're currently in the process of moving the various Virtual Machines (VM's) that Digiex runs on to a new server. The main web server VM was successfully moved this morning. We're now in the process of moving the download VM, along with all the Digiex downloads which are not forum attachments. Therefore any large downloads which are served from download.digiex.net will be offline for the next day or so, anything small attached to a forum post can still be downloaded as normal.

Most people will probably not notice any different, however please bear with us and everything will be moved over shortly.

Update - All download's should be back online now, the only thing we have to do is move over websites we host for various community members.

Those of you who have followed the Xbox scene for many years will probably remember XBMC (Xbox Media Center), XBMC is probably the most successful games console homebrew application of all time. It started out life back in 2002 as Xbox Media Player where several different media players projects for the original Xbox merged, allowing more people to work together to achieve a common goal, of having a fantastic media player for the Xbox.

Back then times were much different, computers and devices with processors in them were not everywhere around the home. Most people didn't have a device connected to their TV that could view photos stored on their computer, play MP3's, or even popular video formats such as Divx and Xvid. The fancy DVD players that could play Divx and Xvid video cost significantly more than an Xbox games console. This made a hacked Xbox a pretty unique thing, an affordable home media center.

As the years wen't on and other hardware become more affordable and powerful than the original Xbox, Xbmc was ported to Windows, OSX, Linux and Android, even supporting jail broken Apple TV's for a short while. Eventually been renamed to Kodi as the original Xbox was no longer officially supported. Although the XBMC4Xbox team do still support the Xbox Classic all these years later.

I dont think anyone ever expected to see Kodi go back to it's roots and be available on a modern Xbox Console, with Microsoft's blessing no less.

From today you can now search for Kodi on your Xbox One and install it the same as any other app.

With all the news going around about Apple and Amazon's fight back in the day with de-listing of Apple TV's from the Amazon Store, Amazon's refusal to make an Apple TV App and how they have now made up and released the App - something bigger seems to have gone totally unnoticed. It seems you can now officially buy Subscriptions to Amazon Prime Video in the Apple App Store app directly via In-App Purchases.

This feature doesn't seem to exist in the US (which is why most the US based tech news sites are not covering it), but if you are in an Amazon supported region outside the US, you can now directly pay for your subscription via the Apple App Store. The big question is, does Apple get a 30% cut like it forces on Spotify and other services, or have Amazon and Apple come to some sort of agreement and in turn Amazon becoming the first provider to get around Apple's In App Purchases Policy?

If Amazon and Apple can come up with some business deal like this, does this then give leverage to other providers of Services like Spotify who have struggled with Apple's aggressive 30% cut on all subscriptions?

10 years after the Aura Mew distribution for the GameBoy Advance Pokemon games took place, it’s now possible for you to distribute your own Aura Mew to your Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, LeafGreen or FireRed GBA games.

Various members of Digiex and the Pokemon community have come together to obtain the Aura Mew event distribution, originally used in the United Kingdom. You can use this to distribute yourself your own legitimate Aura Mew, exactly as if you had attended one of the Aura Mew distributions a decade ago back in 2007.

You might be surprised to learn that this Aura Mew distribution cost a significant amount of money to obtain, however we’re pleased it’s been preserved so yourself and future generations of Pokemon fans are able to enjoy this event Pokemon at no cost, the way it should be.

In addition you are able to trade the Aura Mew up to Sun and Moon too.
